Job Title: Medical Assistant (1 FT)
Rate: $13.12/hour
Location: LRJHC (Salamanca, NY)

Basic Function:
The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for aiding in clinical duties and administrative procedures within the Medical Unit. The MA will assist in patient care by obtaining patient histories, vital signs, prepare and maintain examination areas, perform in office testing such as EKG’s, phlebotomy, and work as a member of the healthcare team under the direction and supervision of the medical provider. The MA will report directly to the Clinical Nurse Supervisor.

Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Medical Assisting or a Medical Assisting diploma from an accredited vocational institution or community college. Preference given to Medical Assistant’s currently certified through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA); Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or a registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Technologists Agency (AMT). Minimum of two (2) years’ experience. Must have knowledge of human anatomy, medical terminology, ability to perform EKG’s, phlebotomy, and have excellent communication and customer service skills. EMR experience preferred.
