The Seneca Nation Health System's Board of Directors was established through its Charter, passed by Seneca Nation's Council on January 14th, 2023.

 

Established for the purpose of providing strategic oversight, policy direction, and guidance with respect to the Nation’s health system and healthcare operations and facilities. The SNHS is recognized as an instrumentality of the Nation and a governmental arm of the Nation and performs the essential governmental function of delivering public health services to the Seneca people and the Board is an instrumentality and governmental arm of the Nation established for the express purposes of providing oversight of the SNHS on behalf of the Nation.

The public may attend and observe regular meetings of the Board of Directors. The Board welcomes patients, employees and others to its meetings. As a courtesy to all wishing to speak, each individual will be granted up to 8 minutes to make his or her presentation and may address the Board during the recognition of unscheduled visitors portion of the agenda. If an individual wishes to schedule as a visitor and be added to the agenda, please contact Cali Stahlman, Project Assistant, the point of contact for the Board of Directors. Please refrain from sharing personal health information, patient details, or any matters involving legal or medical issues, as we cannot discuss specific incidents due to confidentiality laws. We encourage you to share your concerns in a general manner. This portion of the agenda is not meant to be a question and answer period, but is a courtesy to the community so they have the opportunity to bring matters to the board’s attention. The Board advises patients, employees, and others who have questions or concerns about their own, or family members, health-related/service-related problems to resolve them at the level most directly involved and to follow the established process of the Comment/Complaint/Grievance Response System (CCGRS), if necessary. If a satisfactory solution cannot be reached utilizing the CCGRS, an appeal to the Chief Executive Officer must be submitted within 10 business days, the Board of Directors shall be the final authority on employee and patient grievances.
