Eligibility

Eligibility means meeting certain requirements that entitle you to receive health care services from the Seneca Nation Health System.  All of the requirement guidelines follow IHS regulations, but are established locally by a SNI Tribal Council resolution passed on April 14, 1983.  These requirements apply to any and all persons wishing to receive service from SNHS resources and/or facilities.  The eligibility factors are separate for Direct Services and Purchased/Referred Care Services and depend on the location of your residence.

Eligibility for Direct Services residing in the Purchased/Referred Care Service Delivery Area

  1. Enrolled Seneca and enrolled Cayugas*
  2. Children of enrolled Senecas
  3. Descendants of enrolled Senecas (documentation needed)
  4. Enrolled members of federally recognized tribes
  5. Children of enrolled members of federally recognized tribes
  6. A non-native woman pregnant with eligible native's child (up to six weeks postpartum)

 

Eligibility for Purchased/Referred Care Services while residing in the Purchased/Referred Care Service Delivery Area

  1. Enrolled Senecas and enrolled Cayugas*
  2. A non-native woman pregnant with an eligible native's child (up to six weeks postpartum)
  3. Member of federally recognized tribe, employed by the Seneca Nation

 

Eligibility for Purchased/Referred Care Services while residing on the Seneca Nation Territories

  1. Children of enrolled Senecas
  2. Enrolled members of a federally recognized tribe
  3. Children of enrolled members of federally recognized tribes
