COVID-19 Vaccine Information
The Seneca Nation Health System (SNHS) has received the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine from our supplier of choice, Indian Health Service (IHS). The Moderna vaccine has a 2 dose schedule: 1st dose (prime dose), then 2nd dose (boost dose) 28 days later. Moderna is approved for ages 18 and up. Click here to learn more about the Moderna vaccine.
There is currently a limited supply of COVID-19 vaccine doses available. SNHS is concentrating efforts on reaching the initial populations of focus for COVID-19 vaccination. Please note, the COVID-19 vaccine will not be available to the general public for several months, although some additional community members/populations of focus will be eligible in the next phases of the distribution plan.
The schedule is key to the COVID-19 vaccination process. In order to have a safe, effective vaccination clinic and utilize the vaccine itself, without any waste, the schedule must be strictly adhered to. At this time, scheduling is done by SNHS staff performing outgoing phone calls from the phased distribution lists.
There are alternative locations to receive the COVID-19 vaccine for those now eligible through New York State’s distribution phases 1a and 1b; newly eligible are individuals age 65 and older. The demand is far higher than the current supply, but we are offering this information as an alternative resource to those eligible for the vaccine. Visit NYS Western New York Vaccine Provider list to find a provider and contact information to schedule an appointment.
NYS Eligibility Survey** Please note this has NOT been updated yet for Phase 1B, see the "NYS Phased Distribution" site below for ALL criteria/eligibility information.
